| The Four-Way Test:
In everything that we
think, say or
do:
Is it
the TRUTH?
Is it FAIR to all
concerned?
Will it build
GOODWILL and BETTER
FRIENDSHIPS?
Will
it be BENEFICIAL to all
concerned?

James "Jim" M. Thomas:
Integrity
John
Adams introduced our
speaker, fellow
Rotarian
James
"Jim" M. Thomas.
Jim
Thomas (Dublin, GA Club) gave an impassioned plea
for the importance of integrity in our everyday
lives.
Jim started off by defining
integrity as the ability to:
- Keep our word;
- Deliver on what we promise;
- Play within the rules;
- Stand up and be counted when it
counts
Jim
also offered that there were two elemental tenets
to integrity.
First,
integrity is made up of an adherence to principles
that contribute to the greater good and the
essence of integrity is the capacity to stand by
the right ideas as the right time.
Second,
that integrity is made of three components: the
unmistakable, unvarnished truth; a willingness to
announce one's convictions to the world; and, a
resolve to translate one's convictions into
reality.
In
conclusion, Jim stated that integrity is a
character trait that helps us to assess and react
to trying circumstances with the right choice.
