Invocation - Walt Bryde
Guests - Rob Price from the Brookhaven Club.
New Members - We brought two new members into the club. We gave a Rotary welcome to Brian Adams, who grew up in St. Louis, attended college in Florida and is a financial planning professional here in Atlanta. The second welcome went to Chad Greer, an attorney with Wilson, Morton & Downs who grew up in Rome, GA, attended Berry College, and the Sanford School of Law in Birmingham, AL.
From the Speaker - Pete Pfeiffer introduced our speaker, Nadja Schmidt. Nadja is a Rotary Future Vision Scholar. She is attending Emory University Law School pursuing her LLM Degree. Her areas of interest are international law and international business transactions.
Nadja shared pictures of her village, her family and her life growing up in Germany. After high school, Nadja pursued five years of legal education at the University of Heidelberg. She passed the German Bar in July, 2011 and in August came to Emory University.
Nadja said only one percent of Emory's accepted law school applicants are international students. She is one of 26 international students in the LLM program at the School of Law. When Nadja returns to Germany, she will have two more years of clerkship to complete her legal studies. Nadja represents the Rotary Future Vision Scholars well.
